City Block opal cuff

City Block opal cuff

$870.00

A good bracelet stack should look collected, not like it arrived together in a boxed set. When you’re creating your bracelet stack, every bracelet does not need to match. The pieces simply need enough in common to belong together and enough difference to remain interesting.

We need both cohesion and meaningful difference for good design to contribute how much people appreciated what they saw. A less academic translation would be: this stack works.

City Block brings structure to the mix. Sterling silver connects it to the other silver pieces in your collection, while the architectural lines, contrasting finishes, and rectangular opal give your stack another shape and texture to build with.

You stack the cuff alongside the bracelets you want to wear and meet friends for dinner on a downtown rooftop. Around you, the buildings are all blue glass, steel, and reflected evening light. When you reach for your drink, the woman across the table notices the saturated cobalt-blue opal and says, “I love how you put those together.”

Enough in common to belong together. Enough difference to make the stack interesting. That’s the balance you want, isn’t it?

City Block is made entirely from sterling silver. The cuff measures approximately half an inch wide, giving it enough visual presence to add structure to a stack. A split through the silver creates two parallel lines, keeping the design open and architectural rather than turning it into one solid strip of metal. What this means to you is that the cuff can hold its place beside other bracelets without visually crowding them. Fine directional marks have been applied by hand to create a striated, brushed finish. The texture softens the reflection across the silver and allows the cuff to catch light in narrow lines, much like the exterior of a modern building.

The rectangular platform surrounding the opal has been polished to a mirror finish. The smooth silver creates a deliberate contrast with the hand-filed cuff, directing attention toward the stone. It is the jewelry equivalent of putting blue glass in the middle of a steel building—subtle was considered and politely declined.

An opal doublet joins a layer of natural Australian opal to a supportive backing. That backing strengthens and stabilizes the thin opal layer while giving its color greater contrast. What this means to you is that you get the depth and movement of natural opal in a construction made to be more practical for regular wear.

Add it beside smooth bangles, twisted wire, smaller opals, or other sterling silver pieces. The shared metal holds the stack together; the rectangular shape and striated texture keep it from becoming predictable. No building permit required.
